Hello my name is Dave Ellers. I am a long time collector of radios. I have a big collection of tube radios but
recentally I started collecting transistor radios. I am 54 years old and am a "babyboomer" who grew up with the transistor
radio. The first transistor radio in our house was a birthday present to my older brothers birthday in January 1958.
He got a 6 transistor Continental brand radio made in Japan. He was in junior high at the time so he thought the radio was
the coolest thing to have. My brother and I shared the same room so we got to listen to rock n roll when he did his homework.
I got my first transistor for Christmass in 1962. Mine was a Windsor 2 transistor boys radio made in Japan with
earphone and pull up telescoping antenna. You needed to use the antenna to get good reception. This was not a radio that you
could put and use in your shirt pocket.. I could hide it at night and use the earphone to listen to music or night baseball
games after I was to be sleeping. I'm sure there are many things remembered with your transistor radio years ago.
I started back in August of 2004 collecting them. I have 433 of them as of now. Some from garage
sales, fleamarkets, auctions, and off the internet. I look for off brand names, colorfull styling, or different features that
you don't expect on transistor radios. The site is small right now but growing with more then 200 radios in photos
on the four photo pages. I also have a want. I am looking for two GE radios. They are styled like the GE model P975
or P965. There is pictures of these two radios on page 4. The versions are the am marine band version and the am only
version. If you have both or one of them I would like to buy them. Please email me@ dadellersatyahoo.com thank you. Enjoy what I have. If you want to save the pictures to your computer be my guest. Dave
